FUT 17, FUT 19, and FUT 20 Cosmetic Evolution Shells are three retro card design cosmetic Evolutions released for the FC 27 Ultimate Scream event. These cosmetic Evolutions don't boost a player's card stats—they only change the card design. All three can be obtained through the Ultimate Scream Token Store and the Evolution Store.
What Is a Cosmetic Evolution?
A Cosmetic Evolution is an Evolution that only changes a player card's appearance without boosting the player's stats. It's specifically for customizing Ultimate Team player cards.
For example, if you use the FUT 19 cosmetic Evolution on a gold Mbappé card, his stats won't change at all before and after the Evolution—but the original card design gets replaced with the retro FUT 19 design.
The biggest difference from a regular Evolution is that regular Evolutions can change a player's rating, stats, or PlayStyles—even the card design. A Cosmetic Evolution only affects the card design. It won't make your player any stronger.
How Do You Get These Retro Card Design Cosmetic Evolutions?
The FUT 17, FUT 19, and FUT 20 Cosmetic Evolution Shells will be added to the Ultimate Scream Token Store. You can exchange Ultimate Scream Tokens for them, at 100 tokens each.
Beyond that, in FC 27 Season 2 you can also directly claim the corresponding retro cosmetic rewards when you reach the right level, and the Evolution Store also sells all three retro designs for 20,000 coins each.

- Phantom Playgrounds: Go to Objectives and complete Ultimate Scream event challenges. Completing the full objective set earns 100 tokens.
- Ultimate Scream Puzzle Completionist: Complete the event-themed Puzzle SBC and finish the corresponding objective group. The objective group reward is 100 tokens.
- Flash Rush: Go to Live Events, join the limited-time Rush events, and complete the objectives. The current Feral Strength Flash Rush objective group earns 100 tokens.

Is It Worth Spending Tokens on Retro Card Designs?
If you're mainly chasing team strength, prioritize saving your Ultimate Scream Tokens for players, practical Evolutions, or player packs. If you really love the classic FIFA 17, 19, and 20 card designs, exchanging for one is worth it too.
But the value of spending tokens on these isn't great. The total Ultimate Scream Tokens you can earn is limited—you can't buy everything in the store—so you need to plan based on what you want to exchange for.
Retro cosmetics give zero upgrade to your squad, and all three can be obtained through other means. Practical Evolutions and player packs clearly have higher priority in the exchange store and are more worth prioritizing.
