One of the most fun parts of FC 26's Career Mode is scouting and building a powerhouse squad from scratch. But with so many players out there, trying to pin down the high-potential wonderkids can be a headache. To find them, you'll want to focus on two main areas: the Youth Academy and the Global Transfer Network.
Youth Academy: How to Scout World-Class Superstars
It's a total mixed bag in here—not every young player is going to be a superstar, so your main job is to filter out the duds. Here is a solid scouting routine you can follow:
Step 1: Hire High-Star Scouts
Head into your youth network and fire those low-star scouts. If you've got the budget, prioritize scouts with 5-star Judgment. This stat is crucial because it directly determines the initial market value and potential ceiling of the prospects they bring back. If you have extra cash to burn, look for high Experience too—it helps them find more players, making your scouting way more efficient.

Step 2: Target High-Yield Countries
Send your scouts to countries with the best drop rates. Setting the scout trip duration to 9 months gives you the best bang for your buck. Here are the top recommended regions based on positions:
- GK and CB: Italy / Germany
- LW/RW and ST: Brazil / Argentina
- CAM/CM: France / Spain
On top of these powerhouses, Cyprus and Trinidad and Tobago are massive budget-friendly cheat codes. They regularly pop out million-dollar players in random positions.
Step 3: Filter Your Monthly Scout Reports
When your monthly scout reports drop, don't just look at the potential—keep a close eye on their initial Value. As a rule of thumb, if a 15-year-old player is valued at over 1 million, they're worth signing. If they're valued over 1.5 million, sign them immediately without a second thought. They are absolute wonderkids with elite potential.
Step 4: Test Players in Rush Mode
Before promoting them to the first team, take control of these kids in Youth Rush Tournaments. It's the most efficient way to see their actual potential and test how they actually feel in-game.

Global Transfer Network: Stealing Ready-to-Go Players from Other Clubs
If you want to speed things up, you can hunt for talent at other clubs using the GTN. Here's how to quickly filter out the gems:
- Set Scout Instructions: Set your age filter to 16-21, and check the "Promising" box under Attributes. Your scouts will automatically filter and bring you back the highest-potential youngsters.
- Go Bargain Hunting in Lower Leagues: Don't just look at top clubs like Real Madrid or Man City. Scout the EFL Championship, Segunda División, Eredivisie, Belgian Pro League, and Liga Portugal. You'll find plenty of high-potential wonderkids (85+ potential) sitting on price tags of just a few million.
- Check Player Status Tags: Keep an eye on any player under 21 with a 60+ rating. When you open their player profile, look for those hidden status tags indicating their potential (like pointing to 86-90 or even 91+ potential).
Core Stats to Look For When Filtering Players
- Playstyles Over Pure Stats: Playstyles are everything in FC 26. A player worth 800k with 3 Playstyles will play way better in-game than a 1.2 million player with zero Playstyles.
- WF and SM: Try to target prospects with at least 4★/4★. It makes their development curve much smoother as they grow.
- Change Player Positions: If you notice a player whose default position is LB has 85 pace but only 40 defending, change their position to LW as soon as they join the youth academy. You might see their OVR instantly shoot up by 5 to 10 points.
