Clubs is getting a massive overhaul in FC 27. The entire mode has been deeply integrated with The Grounds, ditching the old static menus in favor of a full rework—including a complete revamp of the Archetype progression system.
What are the major changes?
Virtually everything has been rebuilt from the ground up, ranging from out-of-game menu interactions to in-match player progression and playstyles. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what’s changing:
Physical Clubhouse
Clubs now resides inside an actual physical building located at The Terrace in The Grounds. You can walk your virtual pro directly into the Clubhouse to start matchmaking or invite friends to join your squad. The building’s exterior updates in real time based on your league achievements. Plus, once your club builds up enough prestige, you'll start seeing fans wearing your team's kit walking around the streets.
Archetype System Rework
All Virtual Pro Archetypes are fully unlocked right from the start, so there's no need to grind for them one by one. Skill point resets no longer cost coins, allowing you to fine-tune your stats between matches and seamlessly switch playstyles for different positions.
Expanded Match Types
Building on the returning 11v11 Leagues and Playoffs, Clubs Live Tournaments introduces real-time club tournaments with special House Rules like Mystery Ball and No Rules. You can also head over to the pitch in The Grounds to jump into Stadium Drop-Ins, which support quick matchmaking for both 11v11 and 5v5 Rush modes.
Temporary Buffs (Amps)
Completing challenges or winning matches awards temporary buffs called "Amps," which give your player stat boosts in upcoming matches. Standard Amps raise core attributes, while Signature Amps can temporarily grant extra PlayStyles for a single match.
What's the reasoning behind these changes?
EA is making massive changes to Clubs this year, especially when it comes to cutting down the grind for Archetype progression. With time and coin costs dramatically reduced, it's easier than ever to jump around and experiment with every position on the pitch.
On top of that, the expanded tournament lineup and fun game modes give Clubs plenty of depth to stand on its own—making it an extraordinarily rich experience even if FUT or Career Mode aren't usually your thing.
