The Grounds is one of FC 27's core features. It's not a standalone match mode—it's a social world made specifically for Clubs. There are no unlock requirements at all; just create your own Pro and you can hop in and try all the different game modes inside.

The Grounds Core Gameplay Tiers
Tier 1: Street Mini-Games
Includes 1v1 / 2v2 / 3v3. etc. These are great for practicing your mechanics and earning rewards to level up, with a chill experience at heart.
Tier 2: Rush
Also a small-sided 3v3 mode, but closer to a real match, with more competitiveness and intensity.
Tier 3: Clubs
Like 11v11 / League / Playoffs / Tournament—these are real team competitive matches with their own rules and requirements, and they give the richest rewards.
New Player Guide for The Grounds
If it's your first time in this mode, after creating your Pro you'll need to pick an Archetype. It pretty much decides your Pro's future growth path.
EA further strengthened Archetypes in FC 27. Resetting your build no longer costs Grounds Coins, so early on you can freely spend points, but it's still recommended to pick based on the core stat needs of your position.
- ST: Pace → Acceleration → Shooting → Dribbling → Physical
- CAM / CM: Passing → Dribbling → Vision/Creativity → Stamina → Defending
- CB: Defending → Pace → Physical → Passing
- LW/RW: Acceleration → Pace → Dribbling → Crossing/Passing → Shooting
Once your stats are set, you'll have better feel in later matches and a higher skill ceiling.
Watch Your Grounds Coins Spending
Like FUT, The Grounds has its own economy, including:
- Grounds Coins
- AXP
- Amps
- Consumables
- Masteries
Matches and events can earn AXP and Grounds Coins. Objectives give rewards like AXP Consumables, Grounds Coins, Cosmetic Items, etc.
Early-game resources are precious. You need to plan your route, see what you really lack, then spend Grounds Coins to strengthen your build.
Mastery Is a Mid-to-Long-Term Development Goal
After choosing your Archetype's base direction, strengthen Mastery based on your player's weaknesses, slowly building your player into a specialized player.

What Is AXP? How Does It Work?
AXP is the growth XP needed to level up your Pro, and it's strongly tied to your Archetype. In The Grounds, almost every mode gives AXP, but the efficiency is pretty much the same, so just grind levels in the mode you're best at and fastest at.
Note: Maestro Midfielder only gives that AXP to the Archetype you're currently using. So if you mainly play one position, prioritize leveling it up first instead of constantly switching Archetypes—that's extremely inefficient.
Once you've accumulated enough AXP needed for your current level, you'll level up, get some growth stat boosts and Attribute Points. Use Attribute Points to upgrade your player's stats and slowly make your build stronger.
