Dual Entitlement is EA's free upgrade perk for cross-gen console players, and it returns in FC 27. Put simply, you buy the game once and get access to it across two console generations within the same platform family at no extra cost.

What Does Dual Entitlement Do?
This feature is built specifically for console players. When you buy FC 27, if you're currently playing on PS4 or Xbox One, you can upgrade to the current-gen version for free as soon as you get a new console.
For instance, upgrading from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S lets you sync all your Ultimate Team progress directly without starting over. On top of that, your previous-gen version of FC 27 stays on your account. Both versions coexist, so you can play whichever one you feel like.
Is Dual Entitlement Pre-Order Only?
Nope. Everyone who buys FC 27 gets Dual Entitlement for free. It doesn't matter if you pre-order, grab it on launch day, or pick it up later at a steep discount.
The only requirement is owning a legitimate copy of FC 27. That includes the Standard Edition, Ultimate Edition, and Ultimate Plus Edition, across both digital and physical disc formats (though physical disc upgrades require a console with a disc drive).
Upgrade Rules
Dual Entitlement only supports cross-gen upgrades within the same console ecosystem. It does not support cross-platform switching. Upgrading from PS4 to PS5 works, but switching from PS4 to Xbox Series X|S is a no-go.
In addition, PC and Nintendo Switch don't use or require an upgrade system.
Digital vs. Physical Disc Upgrades
For digital copies, simply log into your new console with the same account you used on your old console, then download the current-gen version of FC 27 from the store.
For physical discs, insert your PS4 or Xbox One disc into your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S to verify ownership, then download the current-gen digital version.
Note: Physical PS5 standalone discs sold in stores only work on a PS5 and cannot be downgraded to play on a PS4.
Cross-Play and Matchmaking Across Versions
Once you upgrade on a current-gen console, both game versions can coexist on your system.
If you run the PS5 version of FC 27 on your PS5, you will match up with other current-gen players across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
If you run the PS4 version of FC 27 on your PS5, you will match up with last-gen console players on PS4 and Xbox One.
Save Progress and Online Data Transfer
Data synchronization is strictly limited to your progress and items within Ultimate Team. Your Players, Items, Coins, FC Points, match record, and leaderboard placement will sync in real time whether you switch back and forth between PS4 and PS5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
Progress in all other game modes is stored locally and will not sync. Switching between generations in these modes means starting fresh, including Online Seasons, Co-Op Seasons, Manager and Player Career, Clubs, and more.
